St. Teresa’s Secondary School, founded in Calcutta in 1885, is run by the religious congregation
of the Daughters of the Cross. The congregation was founded by Mother Marie Therese in 1883,
and since its formation, it has been active in the sphere of spreading education throughout the
world.
This School presently admits only female students, priority given (in admission) to students
belonging to the Christian community, and thereafter others, irrespective of religion or caste.
1) Hail to our happy school days,
Youth with the will to win
Hail to our glorious team days,
The game that calls us in.
Striving for mastery, hoping for victory,
Keeping our aims and our ends in view.
Never cast down by the troubles we meet,
Brave in the hour of sore defeat.
Chorus
For life is a test where we must do our best,
Whether in work or in play,
Strengthen your efforts maintain your zeal,
Play up and play the game.
2) March when the sun is shining,
Climb when the day is young.
There is no time for pining,
We mount up rung by rung
Though we grow weary, when the day is dreary,
Think we of joy and success to come,
Patient endeavour,
Will win the long day,
Forwards and upwards come what may.
Chorus
For life is a test where we must do our best,
Whether in work or in play,
Strengthen your efforts maintain your zeal,
Play up and play the game.
